Welcome to our Website launched today!
As Chilham representative on our committee, and on behalf of my colleagues representing the parishes of Molash, Challock, Godmersham & Boughton Aluph, I welcome all visitors to our new website. I hope that you find our twenty pages not only interesting but fired up with enthusiasm to take part in our next walk on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May 2016. We have tried to give you all the information that you need to know; the F.A.Q's are all ones that we have been asked in the past
The Five Church Walk 2nd May 2016 soon
Last month’s big news was that The Five Church Walk was going to appear as an addition to the Kings Wood benefice website. But there is so much information to show that we decided to register our own domain name of www.thefivechurchwalk.co.uk. It should be running by the time you read this, so do please log into it Even if you do not anticipate walking yourself, you’ll learn a lot from the pages for each church (Chilham, Molash, Challock, Boughton Aluph & Godmersham) with
This year's Five Church Walk – early news!
Suddenly what had been next year’s Five Church Walk has become this year’s, meaning planning has already started with emails between committee members who are due to hold their first meeting on 1st February. So now is the time to book it in your diary on 2nd May 2016, the Spring Bank Holiday Monday, before you get side-tracked onto lesser events. If you’ve not taken part before or never even heard of it, this is a waymarked walk along footpaths, byways and very minor roads o
Five Church Walk 2015 - First Indications
Although it rained the day before while I was showing the newly rejoined Godmersham team the ropes putting up red arrows for a brand new route up the Downs, the walk itself was in perfect conditions with bluebells the best I've seen them. As the publicity map shows, the 16 mile circuit is much more logical and having an extra refreshment break is welcomed by walkers, also by the churches whose takings were all substantial. Thanks to advance publicity on the Pilgrims Hospice

Entry or sponsorship forms (with guidance notes on the back) are already available from the back of the
The Five Church Walk 7th May 2012
We were very fortunate that the Five Church Walk was on the only decent day in over a week’s rainy weather, although there was about an hour of very light drizzle mid afternoon. But with gardens too wet to work in, & other activities also liable to be damp squibs, a walk in Kent’s lovely countryside was definitely the best option. I reckon that over twice as many walkers started from Chilham as last year, even if not doing the whole route. That is the beauty of this walk; y
The Five Church Walk 3rd May 2011
With the rain of last year’s walk a distant memory, this year the dry earth was as rock-hard which proved to be tough on the ankles. But a strong north-easterly wind alleviated the sun’s heat, making it an enjoyable walk. Unfortunately the famous bluebells in Kings Wood were nearly over, but I have never seen as many other wild flowers so well advanced when doing the walk before. A total of 48 walkers supported our parish church, with many others favouring the Pilgrims Hos
The Five Church Walk 3rd May 2010
The rain on the preceding two days did nothing to deter the many walkers, 140 of whom started from Chilham. The majority of these were not Chilham folk, but as our church benefits by a small fee charged to walkers who supported the Pilgrims Hospice or Kent Air Ambulance, the more of them the better. And it meant more hungry mouths to feed by our hard working refreshment team. Smooth running was also ensured with Maureen Taylor and her helpers checking walkers in and out t
