Welcome to the Five Church Walk, May 2nd 2022
As I write on February 11th in Godmersham, it has been a most fabulous day with blue skies, bright sunshine, with Buzzards carving lazy circles out in the air. My garden is coming to life with crocus, dozens of snowdrops, pink cyclamen, daffodils, primroses galore, with winter flowering Jasmin and clematis.
Walking through the King's wood reveals different delights including wood anemone, winter aconite, wild garlic leaves and most importantly the all impressive bluebell greens are starting to show...
Today is the 8th March, also a glorious day with daffodils dancing in the wind. Apologies for the delay in posting but here is your update.
We have every expectation that after the cancellation of the last two years walks due to Covid, we will be able to hold this important fundraiser for our five churches, Pilgrims Hospice and Kent Air Ambulance.
Whether or not there will be limitations on this event, remains to be seen. The main issue maybe food and visitors within the churches. Hopefully this will not be the case. The Goverment guidance on Covid is looking better and better as the weeks go by...
If you have never taken part in the Five Church Walk, do please take a few moments to look at old posts, photos and the map. The full walk encompassing all Five churches is 16 miles and few complete that as they prefer to do just a part going from one church to another. having refreshments and then moving onto their final destination. The churches provide excellent refreshments and dog bowls. The suggested minimum donation per person is £5. It's usually a beautiful day out in the countryside with carpets of bluebells everywhere.
By the end of March, if not sooner, we shall confirm or cancel, hopefully confirm, the return of the Five Church Walk.
